About Us

Discover your creativity in a supportive and inspiring environment.

Seasons Art Class® offers in-person art classes for complete beginners and improvers.

At Seasons Art Class, we believe it’s never too late to learn something new. Whether you're picking up a paintbrush for the first time or rediscovering a long-lost passion, our art classes for adults on the North Shore - Hibiscus Coast and East Coast Bays are designed to help you grow your skills and confidence.

Who We Are

Seasons Art Class is a welcoming space for beginners and improvers alike.

Our structured 14-week course guides you through the fundamentals of drawing, oil pastels, watercolours, and acrylics. Led by experienced and encouraging tutors, we offer a relaxed, social atmosphere where students can enjoy the process of learning and connecting with others.

We proudly serve the North Shore in the Hibiscus Coast and East Coast Bays communities, offering daytime weekend or weekday art classes that fit comfortably into your schedule.

What Makes Us Different

Unlike one-off workshops or unstructured sessions, our progressive course is thoughtfully designed to help adults develop foundational art skills at their own pace. Each term introduces a new technique or medium, ensuring a dynamic and enriching experience from week to week.

Our students often say they feel more confident, less stressed, and more connected after joining our classes. Many come back term after term, not just to paint, but to laugh, learn, and belong.

Who Are Our Art Classes For?

Our art classes are ideal for:

  • Retirees looking for creative expression and connection

  • Busy professionals seeking a mindful, relaxing hobby

  • Absolute beginners who’ve never drawn before

  • Adults returning to art after years (or decades) away

You don’t need any prior experience—just curiosity and a willingness to try. All materials required for class use are provided.

Andy

Hibiscus Coast - Tutor

Andrea (Andy) is a passionate and energetic artist based in Whangaparāoa, with over a decade of professional painting experience. Her creativity, enthusiasm, and warm teaching style make her a much-loved tutor at our Hibiscus Coast class.

Andy’s artistic journey began early, working in the film and television industry from her teens—both in front of and behind the camera. This rich and varied background brings a unique perspective to her work and her teaching.

At home in Whangaparāoa with her daughters and a lively collection of exotic pets, Andy draws constant inspiration from nature and is a strong advocate for sustainability and conservation. This shines through in her artwork, particularly in her striking Saw Series—nature-themed pieces painted on reclaimed handsaws, creatively transforming tools of destruction into celebrations of the natural world.

In addition to teaching with Seasons Art Class, Andy continues to produce and exhibit her own work, often using recycled materials to reflect her commitment to sustainability.

We’re thrilled to have Andy on our team, sharing her artistic skills and love for the environment with our students.
